El Monte , CA ,August 17, 2006 - AMREL/AMERICAN RELIANCE , INC . releases the industry's FIRST Zero Volt Programmable Electronic Load (ZVL) to operate down to 0-volt at 40Adc in a 4U half rack bench-top unit . As the newest member of AMREL's award winning  Load line, this Zero Volt Load (ZVL) is available in 100W, 0-150Vdc and 200W, 0-150Vdc models, with additional models soon to be released. Designed specifically to address requirements for single cell fuel cell testing, ultra-low voltage battery testing, and 0-volt load applications, AMREL once again demonstrates its commitment to providing industry specific solutions to a constantly changing market. Modified or customized loads can be requested to meet special application requirements.

The ZVL's 0~10Vdc analog programming, external 0~10Vdc Imon (current monitor) and Vmon (voltage monitor) signals, and Remote Sensing, along with 40Adc loading @ 0Vdc, provide flexible static/dynamic fuel cell/battery testing solutions. In addition, the ZVL can be easily connected to AMREL's new FRA (Frequency Response Analyzer) to provide an effective, low cost solution to impedance measurement applications.
AMREL's feature-packed, 4U half-rack ZVL offers CV/CC/CR/CP/Pulse operating modes, 2 Full-scale ranges, standard co-resident GPIB IEEE-488.2/SCPI & RS-232 interface connectivity, and OV/UV/OC/UC/OP/UP programmable protection. Automated testing and remote programming is achieved via standard LabVIEW & LabWindow drivers. To avoid costly calibration expenses and possible downtime, the ZVL is easily calibrated in a matter of minutes through closed-case calibration.
