Arcadia , CA -AMREL/American Reliance, Inc. announces the expansion of their PD Series of linear power supplies to include a new compact benchtop design (BPD models). AMREL's new Ethernet interface (ePower) will be available with their BPD models, allowing for local and remote access to power supply controls over LAN/WAN networks, access from multiple computers for multiple user control, and fast transmission (10MB) speeds for measurement of voltage and current.
Research & Development departments, as well as University labs, will find the BPD model more efficient in design than AMREL's standard rack-mountable power supply when benchtop testing is required. The BPD was designed to address the needs of the benchtop technician by providing a more portable, compact unit. Also unique to AMREL's BPD models are the front panel output terminals for convenient accessibility.
The almost five inches shorter BPD models offer the same "Customizable" COTS capabilities as AMREL's larger existing PD models. The BPD models also provide programmable protection, which automatically disables the outputs should an over voltage, over current, or over temperature trip occur. This immediate action provides protection to the power supply, as well as the device, from internal or external causes that could promote damage.
Currently, there are nine BPD models available, ranging from 8 to 350Vdc in single channel (dual channel available upon request). Specifications for AMREL's new BPD include: SCPI compliant RS-232 and GPIB, Ethernet (ePower) and USB interfaces standard, low-ripple noise (0.3mVrms/3mVp-p), 16-bit resolution, simultaneous voltage and current readback, power-off memory, temperature-controlled fan activation for laboratory environments, and manually controlled encoder in addition to AMREL's standard digital keypad.
