2008 Automotive Testing Expo North America- AMREL Releases New 1.5kW Vented Switch Mode Supplies

Novi, MI- Oct. 24, 2008 – AMREL releases the newest members of their ePower™ Family of Programmable Power Supplies, the 1.5kW Vented Programmable Switch-Mode Power Supplies (1.5kW SPS-V and SPS-K Series Models), at 2008 Automotive Testing Expo North America.

As the electronic contribution to automotive products has rapidly increased, so has the need for more extensive and higher power testing of all components. To meet market demands and trends, AMREL has released the ePower™ family of high-power, dc power supplies. The newest members of the ePower™ family are the 1.5kW SPS-K and SPS-V Series Models. These feature PFC, very high-power density and zero-stackability. These models output 1.5kW in a 1U package. 

The SPS Switch Mode Supplies are available in two flavors – full-featured SPS-K Models and basic analog SPS-V 1.5kW Models. 

AMREL’s SPS-K 1.5kW models offer all the bells and whistles, while keeping its price tag economical and affordable.  Features and benefits include standard Ethernet/USB/RS-232/GPIB interfaces, vented panel and closed-case calibration for increased reliability and ROI, industry’s exclusive keypad and encoder for simple navigation, VLIST and ILIST auto-sequencing for automated testing without a PC, built-in master controller for system expansion with ease, integrated 4-digit DMM for 16-bit voltage and current measurements on a 162 VXFD display, and standard LabVIEW, LabWindows and SCPI commands ideal for ATE environments.  Options include mechanical or fast-response solid state polarity reversal and output isolation relays, and RS-485 multi-channel system expansion using a single PC remote connection.
