Fuel Cell Testing

AMREL's eLoad FEL Series’ low minimum operating voltages provide high current capabilities below 1V for single cell testing.  Broad operating ranges for both voltage and current allow the same unit to be used on higher voltage stacks.  Measuring the impedance of a fuel cell can identify quality problems with the raw materials and pinpoint issues created during assembly.  The FEL fuel cell load can assist these measurements by setting a baseline load and then stimulating the fuel cell with an ac current utilizing AMREL’s 0-10V analog input.  This ac current will "ride" on top of the base current.  Even though the FEL fuel cell load operates at ultra-low voltages, a boost supply may be used to compensate for voltage drops between the UUT and the load.  Please review AMREL’s ePOWER line of programmable dc power supplies if a boost supply is required.

Battery Testing

AMREL's eLOAD line of programmable electronic loads is used to test a wide variety of high power batteries.  Tests include: capacity, internal impedance, capacity retention, discharge rate, and lifecycle testing.  In addition, AMREL's ePOWER line of programmable dc power supplies is used to charge batteries in systems being developed internally. The use of both AMREL's eLOAD and ePOWER supplies in the same test station not only provides AMREL's customers with the convenience of using only one outsource but also eliminates compatibility issues.

 

Solar Cell/Array Testing

Solar Panels have consistently suffered from very low efficiency. By using eLOAD’s constant current and constant power modes, R&D groups can test cells and then validate their research in new, hi-efficiency materials. AMREL's eLOAD line is used to certify both Thin Film Solar Panels and Solar Concentrator/High Energy Solar Modules.
