Can the ePower power supplies be field calibrated?
Most of AMREL’s ePower power supplies utilize a digital closed-case calibration scheme. The calibration adjustment can be done via the keypad or PC control interface as long as a properly rated shunt, voltage/current source, and DMM are used. It is recommended that the power supply be calibrated / adjusted once per year.
Can the ePower power supply compensate for long load leads?
All AMREL ePower power supplies have a remote sensing feature that allows the supply to compensate for voltage drops on your load wiring. This is accomplished by simply making a 4 wire connection to your load (DUT).
Can I parallel the ePower power supplies together to obtain higher power and current?
Two or more ePower power supplies can be connected in parallel to produce a total output current that is the sum of the power supplies’ output currents.
Can I remotely control multiple ePower power supplies via a single GPIB, Ethernet, or RS-232 port?
All AMREL ePower power supplies include a standard or optional RS-485 interface for single port (address) multiple channel configuration. This allows for a master/slave control scheme, where one power supply is directly connected to your computer or network, and the slave supplies are RS-485 “daisy chain” connected to the master supply.
Is there an external method for shutting off the ePower power supply input?
All AMREL ePower power supplies can be shut off by a remote inhibit signal. Depending on the model, an external TTL signal or a contact closure is all that is required.
