ARI Expands to Meet Demands for SPS Programmable DC Switch-mode Power Supplies

March, 2001, Arcadia, California- American Reliance, Inc. (ARI), a division of AMREL Corporation, has recently expanded its manufacturing facilities in response to rising demands for the SPS series programmable DC switch-mode power supplies. The new facility houses ARI assembly, testing, and quality control and is connected to a second wing currently undergoing renovation in preparation for further expansion. Alex Wang, AMREL COO estimates the second wing will be ready for use by March.

The SPS series made its debut in January 1998 and was eagerly adopted by consumers. Offering high power density packed into a low profile, 1.75" tall unit, the SPS has become extremely popular among test engineers looking to "rack n' stack" the systems.  The SPS is equipped with 12-bit DAC and feedback circuitry to provide excellent programming
accuracy, readback resolution, and precise line/load regulation (lmV/lmA).  The unit employs firmware to allow for electronic calibration without requiring the unit to be removed from its environment.   Standard features include low ripple & noise, external analog programming capabilities, a 10 turn potentiometer for voltage and current control, and program protection modes (voltage, current & temperature).  The SPS can also be fitted with any combination of optional features from the unit's extensive feature menu, including GPIB/RS232 interfaces, which in conjunction with a PC controller enables remote operation.

In anticipation of the projected 250% sales growth in 2001, Mr. Wang has relocated his office to the manufacturing facilities where he will focus on the expansions and the implementation of additional procedures.  Mr. Wang has already put into practice several new procedures designed to heighten customer satisfaction; including the creation of an electronic tracking system used to track orders as they progress through different stages of production.  The  information gathered is available to manufacturing, sales, and customer support staff via ARI's intranet.  Mr. Wang will use the data collected by the system to analyze the production procedures in practice and make changes if necessary.

In accordance with AMREL's dedication to providing superior products and customer support, ARI will make every effort to meet customer demands for the SPS and pledges to remain committed to manufacturing quality products and providing excellent customer service.
