AMREL Forms Federal Computer Group – To Meet Heightened Homeland Security Needs With "Customized COTS" Solutions ARCADIA, CA -- (INTERNET WIRE) -- 01/28/2002 -- AMREL, a leading manufacturer known for its ROCKY line of rugged mobile computing systems, has formed a new Federal Computer Group (FCG). The mission of the group is to fully and effectively address the rugged mobile computing needs of the military and federal government, especially in response to the heightened awareness and increased requirements related to homeland security.
The FCG will focus on providing “customized COTS” (commercial-off-the-shelf) solutions based on AMREL’s new ROCKY Patriot line of rugged mobile computing products. Customization will involve a wide range of device integration options available through AMREL’s “ ROCKY's Advanced Modular Platform™” design. The group’s application engineers will also work to integrate new technologies developed by our partnership companies.
A sales management team based in the Washington D.C. area will spearhead AMREL’s Federal Computer Group. FCG representatives will attend key expositions and conferences hosted by United States military bases and Federal agencies throughout this year. Supported by AMREL’s resources, including a nation-wide representative network, the core team is positioned to respond to requirements ranging from a few products to large-volume acquisitions with high quality, technologically advanced solutions designed specifically for military, homeland security and federal agency applications.
