In 1999, Santa Ana Police Dept. Implemented A Fully Rugged Mobile Computer System Comprised Of Some Of The Following Components:
 

ROCKY Rugged Notebook Computer and AMREL Dockunder Solution

In 1999 AMREL Systems was privileged to participate in Santa Ana Police Department’s successful mobile computing deployment. The ROCKY rugged laptop computing systems were equipped with a Pentium MMX 266MHz CPU, 12.1” Daylight Readable LCD, 64MB RAM, 5.4GB HDD, Internal LAN and Vehicle Docking. Certified to MIL-STD 810E for ruggedness, the ROCKY could resist the harshest environments including water, dust, shock, vibration, extreme temperatures, salt fog and humidity. Three years later the ROCKY is still reporting for duty at Santa Ana Police Department.

Stewart Products, Inc CM-001SA Laptop Mounts

The CM-001SA is a basic tilt/swivel mount with 6” of maximum height adjustable down to 4.5”. The mount attaches directly to the ROCKY Dockunder and to a no holes drilled floor mount.

Provides alternative solutions for additional communication ports & PCMCIA slots for multiple network interface or for connection to devices like breathalyzers, scanners, cameras, or GPS receivers. All modems are placed in the TR6100 hardware platform, and standard package includes the Connectivity Suite's patented routing engine, the TotalRoam Ellipse software.
   

AT&T Wireless IP (CDPD) Networks

The AT&T Wireless IP (CDPD) Network provides high levels of security to Arcadia PD. Features include: airlink encryption, client and host credential authorization, and private frame relay.
   

Sierra Wireless AirCard® 350 Wireless Network Card for Notebooks

The Sierra Wireless AirCard® 350 Wireless Network Card is an extension of Sierra's award-winning product, the Sierra Wireless AirCard 300. By adding a rugged antenna, a 3-year warranty, and support for a 3W booster, Sierra Wireless has created a PC card product targeted at public safety and field service markets. Now any Windows notebook with a Type II PC card slot can use this rugged wireless network card for cellular data access in the field.
