Fast Field Access Feature
The ROCKY Rugged Notebooks field fast access feature allows for the swapping and self-servicing of key components while out in the field. The interchangeable components are housed in "smart bays" that are accessible by using our unique coin-screw release fastener, for quick removal and replacement. This capability saves users valuable time and money while functioning out in the field.
Alpha-Star™ Sunlight Readable LCD (ASSRL)
AMREL's RK and RT rugged notebooks feature our unique Alpha-Star™ sunlight readable screen as standard; this sunlight readable LCD display significantly increases screen image contrast and reduces reflective glare while functioning under brightly lit conditions.
The RK-I ASSRL display is also available as a resistive touch-screen that can be easily operated with a gloved finger or stylus.
MIL-STD-810F & IP54 Certified
A fully rugged notebook must be equipped to operate under a variety of extreme conditions. That's why AMREL's fully rugged computers are designed to MIL-STD-810F certification. This standard ensures our rugged laptops are resistant to rain, shock, humidity, vibration, salt fog, altitude and extreme temperatures for operation in the harshest environments. Our ROCKY rugged notebooks are also IP54 certified, making them dust and water resistant by industrial standards.
The combination of the MIL-STD-810F and IP54 certifications make AMREL's rugged computers virtually indestructible and immune to the harshest elements.
Rugged Features
In addition to MIL-STD-810F & IP54 certification, Rocky fully rugged notebooks are also equipped with an array of other rugged notebook features for maximum system protection. This includes a sealed magnesium case, watertight port covers, and a hard drive that is fully insulated with shock absorbent cushions to reduce the chance of damage in case of a sudden jolt.
All AMREL rugged laptops are also built with our unique Fault Tolerant Isolation Design infrastructure. This system features individually sealed internal ports for added protection to the motherboard in case of internal dust or water penetration.
Superior Docking Solution
AMREL's superior "dock under" docking solution provides port replication for easy mounting and removal. The dock under offers multiple expansion capabilities for easy integration including a choice of two USB ports or two PCI slots.
In addition, the dock under features a powerful support arm that secures our notebooks firmly in-place, greatly reducing vibration and movement and a security lock to prevent unauthorized computer removal.
As always, with our "Customizable COTS Program" any system can be designed to fit our customer's unique mounting requirements.
